Thesis submission deadline
- The deadline for submitting the printed master's and doctoral theses for the current semester (114-2) is August 25, 2026 (Tuesday). The NTU Library recommends that students submit the electronic version of their thesis that complies with the Library's formatting requirements for review by August 11, 2026 (Tuesday). The submitted electronic thesis must be the final version revised after the oral defense and approved by the thesis advisor. This is to ensure that the review process can be completed and the printed thesis can be submitted before the deadline.
- During the peak thesis submission period (August 11–25, 2026), the Library will temporarily suspend requests for thesis replacement in order to avoid delays in the thesis review process. For other important information regarding thesis review and submission, please refer to the Library website:
https://www.lib.ntu.edu.tw/node/103 - Starting from Academic Year 114, students applying for delayed public access to their thesis must sign the "National Taiwan University Approval Form for Delaying Public Access to Theses/Dissertations" at the time of the oral defense. The number of original signed forms submitted must be the same as the number of application forms submitted.
- The Office of Academic Affairs will check students' status in the Steps for Application to Leave School System on the morning of August 26, 2026. Students whose "Library" item in the system is marked "Completed" will be recognized as graduates of Semester 114-2. Students whose "Library" item remains "Not Completed" must pay tuition for Semester 115-1, or will be dismissed if the maximum period of study has expired.
(Please refer to the attached file for the Leave School System screen indicating eligibility for graduation in Semester 114-2.)
Please Note
- Previous practices or experiences regarding thesis submission deadlines (such as grace periods or only needing to upload the electronic thesis by a certain date) before Semester 113-2, including information passed down by graduates from previous years, are no longer applicable. Only students who have completed submission of the printed thesis by August 25, 2026, and whose "Library" item in the Leave School System is marked "Completed", will be recognized as graduates of Semester 114-2.
- Please do not upload a thesis that is not yet in its final version and subsequently request a thesis replacement. Such practices have caused administrative difficulties. The Library will compile a list of the departments to which such theses belong, and the information will be announced accordingly. Departments and thesis advisors will be requested to strengthen their supervision.
- Graduate students cannot be regarded as graduates of Semester 114-2 simply because they uploaded their electronic thesis before August 25, 2026. During the review of the Leave School System on the morning of August 26, 2026, any student whose "Library" item remains "Not Completed" will not be recognized as a graduate of Semester 114-2.
