20260313 NTU × WashU Environmental Innovation Summit

The Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering (GIEE) at National Taiwan University recently held a joint symposium with the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). The event convened faculty researchers from both institutions for a full-day program of academic presentations and discussions centered on environmental engineering and atmospheric science.

Research topics covered during the symposium included air quality monitoring and source apportionment, particulate matter characterization and health risk assessment, oxidative potential of aerosols, electrochemical CO₂ capture and utilization, advanced water and wastewater treatment, environmental biotechnology, and the fate of emerging contaminants in aquatic systems. The breadth of topics highlighted the shared research priorities and complementary expertise between the two institutions.

The symposium provided a valuable platform for researchers to exchange findings, identify common ground, and lay the groundwork for future collaborative research and academic exchange between NTU GIEE and WashU EECE.
